Study Course 1 of the NPA’s Preregistration Trainee Pharmacist Training Programme 2008/09 has been held in Wakefield, Birmingham and St Albans. The two day residential course is the first of three components of the 2008/09 programme.
Arian Jafari, preregistration trainee pharmacist at Davey's Chemist in Manchester said: "The course was relevant and applicable to what you do in a real life pharmacy. It was well organised and structured and feedback was encouraged after each topic so that everyone understood. The most important aspect, for me, was how friendly the NPA staff were - making learning a natural outcome of the day."
Sabina Khanom, Assistant Head of Education & Training at the NPA said: “This year the NPA has expanded the number of venues holding the preregistration courses from two to three, as a result of increased demand from our members. Feedback has been fantastic from the preregistration pharmacists attending Study Course 1, and we look forward to seeing them again in January for Study Course 2. The success of last year’s Preregistration Trainee Pharmacist Conference means that we will be running it again as the conclusion to the training programme.”
The dates for Study Course 2 are: Wakefield (21-23 January 2009); St Albans (4-6 January 2009); and Birmingham (11-13 January 2009). The NPA’s Preregistration Trainee Pharmacist Conference is on the 23 and 24 April 2009 in Birmingham.
