The NPA’s Chief Executive, John Turk and NPA Chairman, Paul Bennett met with key pharmacy stakeholders in Northern Ireland on Friday 13 June. The NPA’s CE and Chair met with Michael Guerin, Northern Ireland NPA Board Member, Paul McDonagh (UCA President), Terry Hannawin (Chief Executive PCC NI), Gerard Greene (Chair PCC NI), Donald Moore (UCA and PCC NI Treasurer) and Sheelin McKeagney (South LCG Chair) and discussed the challenges facing community pharmacists in Northern Ireland.
John Turk, NPA Chief Executive said: “We have a special relationship with the UCA which involves supporting the excellent work that the organisation does with Northern Ireland members. Most recently we have liaised with the UCA to help fine tune our marketing materials for the province and we will look to them to help with our radio campaign in NI later this year.”
John Turk continued: “It is also important that our organisation works closely with PCC NI especially at a time when NI has not received its new contract. We will continue in the future to work with the PCC NI to provide tailored resources for our members such as our recent Service Continuity Planning for Pandemic Flu document.”
Paul Bennett, NPA Chairman said: “The NPA is working with key stakeholders in Northern Ireland to ensure it provides advice and resources of a gold standard to our members. As Northern Ireland is unique by not having had its new contract it is essential that we understand what this means and build a programme which supports our members leading up to and after its induction.”
